Dr. Eli Perencevich is the Associate Chair for Clinical and Health Services Research and Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine as well as the Director of the Center for Access & Delivery Research and Evaluation (CADRE) at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. He is also co-PI of the VA’s Combating Antimicrobial Resistance through Rapid Implementation of Available Guidelines & Evidence (CARRIAGE) QUERI program and Associate Editor (Infectious Diseases) for JAMA Network Open.

Dr. Perencevich is an infectious disease physician and epidemiologist with over 20 years experience studying the epidemiology and outcomes of hospital-acquired infections using mathematical models, large administrative databases and multicenter clinical trials. He has significant experience studying the comparative effectiveness of infectious disease treatment and prevention strategies and has received continuous funding through VA HSR&D since 2002. Recent funded including PI of the University of Iowa’s Prevention Epicenter Program and VA HSR&D CREATE, QUERI and RIVR funding. He has mentored over 20 infectious diseases and epidemiology fellows and faculty and has over 200 peer-reviewed publications.
